My smile goal to keep my diastema, the gap between my upper front teeth, ran counter to popular dental aesthetics. As I matured into middle age, my teeth shifted to a degree that affected the frequency of my smile. I began to smile less and hardly at all in pictures. Regaining my smile confidence meant straightening my teeth, but also maintaining my diastema, which held cultural significance for me as a woman of Caribbean heritage. The diastema is an attractive feature in African and Caribbean culture, bringing good fortune. Whereas orthodontics usually concerns closing diastema, Dr. Schmidt crafted a personalized treatment plan for me to keep my diastema, even providing me with images of different gap sizes to consider for my dental and aesthetic needs. Now that I can’t stop smiling, I’m grateful for the good fortune that brought me to Dr. Schmidt’s Wauwatosa office.

My invisalign treatment here was great. Everyone is very friendly. They did a great job on my teeth which were pretty rough. I wanted invisalign to get my teeth straightened before my wedding. Although I came to them with only 5 months to work with, Dr. Schmidt did everything he could to get the best results before my wedding. I was very satisfied on how my teeth looked that day. It made a huge difference in my pictures and confidence.

I'm an older adult patient who had crowding in my teeth. After being told by one prominent local orthodontic office that I was not a candidate for orthodontic treatment, but being encouraged by my dentist to get a second opinion, I retained Uniquely You for my aligners. Dr. Schmidt spent a lot of consultation time with me initially, explaining my treatment plan and why he felt that it was reasonable for me to get my teeth straightened even though I'd been told otherwise. I also got a third opinion who saw no problem either. As I progressed through treatment, Dr. Schmidt answered questions over text. It was very convenient, and gave me prompt, reassuring answers, especially on weekends when I ran into questions. I always felt that he had a sincere interest in the quality of my treatment. I'm now 95% done with my treatment and my teeth look great! We're just doing some finishing touches. Dr. Schmidt was recommended by my dentist and I have no regrets! His staff was always professional and friendly too.

Myself and my four teenagers all completed service here. Staff kind and professional (and patient - we are not always model patients with dog’s chewing up retainers, brackets broken by candy, etc). Highly recommend this clinic - quality and attentive service isn’t always available but you will find it here!

I just completed Invisalign with Dr. Schmidt. Definitely a 5 star experience! Dr. Schmidt provided all treatments and was present at all visits, unlike some orthodontists who consult only during the first visit and leave further treatments to techs. Dr. Schmidt took the time to answer my questions in great detail, and his staff was very attentive as well. He was meticulous in getting my alignment perfect. My smile is nicer and my bite is much more comfortable! I wish I had done this years ago.

I had a great experience with Dr. Jim Schmidt. I had a permanent retainer that broke, he carefully removed all the glue from 15 yrs ago and suggested that I just wear a retainer at night to keep away from any periodontal disease in the future. It was a great suggestion as my dental hygienist has been suggesting that for years!
