Great Expressions Dental Centers - Oak Park

Location was very clean and staff were polite and friendly. Been coming here for years for regular appointments and have not had any complaints nor issues whatsoever. Keep up the good work! 🙌🏾

Everyone was very nice and they explained everything to me including my out of pocket expense. Theybmade me as comfortable as possible for my procedure. My dental hygienist Debbie, was very attentive and kept asking was I okay and if I was comfortable. Over all it was a good experience. One suggestion is the place could use an upgrade to the lobby (new chairs, and some pictures) and the exam rooms need to be painted and the floors either need to cleaned or replaced. It looks a bit dirty and that is not a good look for a dental office.

I had a very concerning experience with this dentist. About three years ago, I was told that I had periodontal disease and that my teeth could not even be cleaned unless I first paid for a $700 treatment. I felt pressured and uncomfortable with the situation, so I decided to get a second opinion. The second dentist told me that I did not have periodontal disease at all. Instead, I only had gingivitis, which was resolved with a medicated mouthwash. That experience made me question the accuracy of the diagnosis I was given. I sent my 21-year-old son to the same dentist for an abscess shortly after my visit with the only Black Male doctor that worked there at the time. My son has never even had a cavity, yet he was told he would need a root canal on one of his front teeth to fix the issue. That recommendation seemed extremely aggressive, so we sought a second opinion before moving forward. Based on our experience(s), I strongly recommend that anyone get a second opinion before agreeing to expensive or major dental procedures here. Our experiences left us feeling like treatment recommendations may have been more aggressive and costly than necessary.

Very disappointed,I had an appointment at 1 PM. I arrived and the reception staff welcomed me nicely, then took me to the consultation room. The dentist came in and said, "I’ll be back," and left for 20 minutes. When he came back, he asked if I was there for a follow-up and a permanent filling. I said yes. Then he told me to wait again and left for another 30 minutes to see another patient, leaving me waiting. Finally, he came back, gave me anesthesia, handed me the suction tube and told me to hold it myself, then did the filling in less than 10 minutes. When I closed my mouth, I told him the filling was too high and touching my other tooth. He kept adjusting it and asking if it was still touching, and I kept saying yes. In the end, he said, "We’ll fix it next time," and stopped. He didn’t even check my broken tooth. Instead, he started working on my front teeth while I was counting/biting to check the contact. He was working alone, holding the suction and moving it aggressively, and he even injured the inside of my mouth with that suction tube.

The staff is Professional and efficient. From the front desk to the assistant. My Hygienist was thorough. The assistant Bre was excellent with X-rays. Dr. Preston was thorough as well.

Staff was very nice and professional. Doctor was patient and thorough. Overall great experience, especially being at the dentist. Dr. Preston was extremely patient and detailed.

Staff was friendly, the service was timely, the team was professional. I'm very happy I switched from my former dental provider to this dentist.
