Dentists of West St. Paul

I went to this office on Monday and had an absolutely wonderful experience thanks to the dental assistant, Amaya. From the start, she was warm, friendly, and made me laugh, which instantly helped calm my nerves. She took my blood pressure, explained what she was doing, and was incredibly gentle and efficient with my X-rays—even though I hate getting them. Amaya made sure I was comfortable the entire time and truly went above and beyond to help me feel at ease. Her kindness, professionalism, and positive energy made a huge difference, and she’s a real asset to this office.

Due to my insurance, I had to find another dental clinic. I have always been such a baby when it came to dentistry (I am currently 75), But when I came to Dentist, Of West St Paul and Kathryn Thorson, everything changed. She removed two crowns and replaced them the same day= Through the entire procedure, I never felt one single bit of pain or discomfort. I would highly recommend Kathryn Thorson to anyone having any dental work done= She is extremely kind, caring, and gentle

Way too many bells and whistles for a simple routine cleaning. This place has new state-of-the art equipment that they are overexcited to use and charge me for. I don't need 3D xrays for a cleaning. I don't need you to take my blood pressure. Initial bill was over $2,500. I also feel that they are opportunistic in addressing "problems". AKA I have a babytooth (34 yo) that has given me no problem ever. All my other dentists said to keep it while it works, and maybe it will never cause an issue. This dentist asked me multiple times if I wanted to talk about removal options. NO! I also had a poor experience with the technician who cleaned my teeth. I won't be going back. The receptionist was extremely nice though. I liked her.

This place made me feel at home, at ease and not pressured. All things were explained in detail with questions I asked and all recommend work was broke down and explained with the cost amounts. Not to mention the fancy Keurig machine and the hot/cold dispenser. Ge gave awesome customer service and explanation of things. My wife liked that the staff is very attentive and nice and agreed to all the above.

The experience I had at Dentists of West Saint Paul was absolutely phenomenal! It’s been over a decade since I visited a Dentist. In addition to having a Dental check up, I learned so much about the linkage between Oral Health and Overall Health. The staff who worked with me were patient, understanding and nonjudgmental. The receptionist brought me relief on financing for my Dental Care. She showed me a list of avenues to take to ensure I can successfully finance for my Dental Care and see the Dentist when needed. Any diagnosis or treatment that my Dental Insurance does not cover, there is a way to go about it and finance for it.

Dr. Thorson is amazing. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about helping patients. RHD Zara is also amazing and a pleasure to chat with. Amaya the dental assistant is very caring and kind. Every time is a great experience!

Would not clean my teeth after I refused periodontal probing when there were zero other signs of periodontal disease (healthy gums, healthy xrays, no risk factors). It maybe SOP but definitely not merited in my specific case.
