I've been a patient at Centre for Dental Excellence for several years and it is an absolutely wonderful experience. Dr. Dunham is lovely, kind, and patient, and Elizabeth, the dental hygienist, is equally lovely, kind, and gentle. Everyone at the front desk is terrific, friendly, and always accommodating when I need to schedule or reschedule appointments. I always leave my appointments with a huge smile on my face and actually look forward to my next visit. I've recommended this dental practice to many people. Definitely 5+ stars!

I have been so happy with this practice! They were able to fit me in, same day, when I called them about extreme jaw and tooth pain I was having. Dr. Dunham is experienced and extremely knowledgeable - I feel very reassured in his hands. I cannot say enough about the staff! I'm a big baby when it comes to dental procedures, and they are so reassuring and kind. Highly recommend!

In all my years of seeing Dentists, Dr. Dunham has been my favorite. He is knowledgeable, kind, honest and professional. He tells you straight up how it is, but in a gentle manner. I never felt like I was getting unnecessary work done here. His office staff was always on top of things, friendly and professional. The Dental Hygienists were all wonderful. We moved out of state and I've been to two new Dental Offices and just felt the need to come leave him a well deserved positive review because I actually miss this office.

Love everything about the Centre For Dental Excellence! Dr. Dunham cares so well for his patients. I feel respected and valued. He always goes out of his way to make me feel comfortable. Equally amazing is his staff who truly go out of their making you feel like a member of the family. And if there are any issues with insurance or anything else, they quickly address it and usually correct it taking the burden off of you. The entire team work hard, yet enjoy themselves. What a great place to go if you have to see the dentist.

It’s always a pleasant experience when I visit my dentist. The staff is outstanding; from Lynn taking care of the front and the professionals handling the patients in the back. Ann was professional and very gentle during my cleaning. Dr. Dunham was attentive and responsive to all my concerns, Great Team!!!

The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. She made me feel relaxed and welcomed. The dental hygienist was by far the best hygienist I have ever seen. She was attentive, explained everything she was going to do, she was very knowledgeable, she used praise when identifying the areas of my oral hygiene that I was going well, made sure I was comfortable and was extremely personable. I could not give a 5 star rating because the dentist seemed distracted, had a course of treatment planned before I had the chance to explain what I had experienced over the past 4 years. Had I stayed silent I would not have submitted for a treatment plan that would best suit me. I am returning because I love the staff!

I was given a wonderful opportunity to receive donated services, which I wholeheartedly appreciated. However, the experience surrounding my consultation and scheduled procedure was incredibly distressing due to a severe lack of accommodation, continuity of care, and professional sensitivity. I repeatedly disclosed my severe dental phobia and PTSD stemming from childhood trauma during my initial consultation and follow-up communications. I called to verify my agreed-upon accommodations would be met for the planned multiple tooth extractions and scaling. I was subsequently told that no accommodations would be provided for managing pain, PTSD, or trauma during the procedure. Following the initial appointment, I was prescribed an antibiotic. However, my follow-up appointment was scheduled two months later, allowing the infection to return. I had to get antibiotics again, and the dentist prescribed me the exact same antibiotic back-to-back. This lack of scheduling priority and prescribing the same medication for a recurring infection shows poor follow-up care. ​Insensitive and Unprofessional Treatment: Throughout my interactions, I felt like I was being "talked at" by the dental professionals and was treated as if I was the issue in the room. To make matters worse, the assistant on the phone questioned if I was "asking for drugs." This assertion was unprofessional and upsetting, especially considering the severity of my documented phobia, which necessitates accommodations to prevent a violent reaction to pain. ​The lack of empathy, poor continuity of care (evident in the repeated antibiotic prescription and delayed scheduling), and subsequent dismissal of my medically compromised mental state has made it impossible for me to proceed with care here. If a practice offers services to those with severe dental needs, they must be prepared to handle patients with disclosed trauma and phobia with dignity and appropriate planning, not accusation and dismissal. Thanks for wasting my time and money I spent to get my triage form filled out as an uninsured new patient just to be able to see you. Your lack of compassion is the reason why I have this clinical phobia in the first place, the same clinical coldness that had me held down as a child to be treated. If a practice offers services to trauma survivors, they must commit to handling them with dignity, respect, and appropriate planning—not accusation and dismissal.
