Chao Mark T DDS

I have weak enamel and a massive fear of going to the dentist due to previous experiences in my youth (many cavities, root canals, etc). Dr. Chao has changed everything for me and I will not see any other dentist. He always goes out of his way to make sure I'm comfortable with everything he is doing, he explains in simple terms what he's found when reviewing my x-rays, and he has a wonderful bedside manner. His staff is excellent as well, always kind and professional. I live in San Francisco and I drive to Stockton to see Dr. Chao because I refuse to go to anyone else. Since I have seen Dr. Chao I have had no new cavities. His work has primarily been updated and repairing filings and crowns from other dentists that hasn't stood the test of time. I will be a patient for life.

I have gone to Dr. Chao for all my dental needs for many, many years. I see myself as a difficult patient. My gum line is receding which causes sensitivity. Dr. Chao is patient and accommodating to my needs. I recommend him when asked by friends or coworkers.

I went here and was told I had 6 cavities. I went to another dentist and was told I had 1. He was surprised I was told 6.

Dr. Mark Chao is by far the best dentist I have ever seen. I have always had problems with my previous dentists, so I am always wearisome about going to someone new. I had a filling fall out, and I am unemployed, injured, and not it a good financial spot, and I wanted it filled. So I had, at first, gone to Brookside Dental Care down the street, and they charged me $124 for one 3 minute x-ray and a 2 minute consult with the doctor who told me she wouldn't fill it, and I needed to do a root canal. So I told Brookside Dental Care they can kick rocks, and I left and went down the street to Dr. Mark Chao DDS. I went in there by chance because it was next to the mailbox. I gave them the x-ray I just got, and Dr. Chao gave me a free exam on the spot, no wait, and reviewed the x-ray, and said he could fill it. I came back a week later and got the cavity filled for cheaper than most would do. Dr. Chao also gave me complimentary x-rays. Dr. Chao did excellent work, he was kind, patient, careful, not rushed, he explained everything clearly and answered any of my questions. He did not try to upsell me or use high pressure or scare tactics to try to sell me more dental work. He is honest and straight. He has skills, he works efficiently, but not rushed or sloppy. His staff is excellent, they are professionals, they are nice, they know what they are doing, they work well together, and are also efficient and skilled, not fast and sloppy like other places. Overall I had a 10 out of 10 experience, and would highly recommend Dr. Chao to anyone 100%. I finally found a dentist I am not scared to go to. Thank you.
