Dr. Austin Ako is amazing. From the start, he explained everything in clear layman’s terms so I actually understood what was going on and why. He even mentioned that he loves puzzles. And you can tell because he approached my situation like a problem he was determined to solve. He fixed my issue and did it with real skill and confidence. What I appreciate most is that he’s conscientious, and doesn’t push expensive treatment just because he can. He genuinely looks for more affordable routes when they make sense, and he’s upfront about options. On top of being brilliant, he’s personable, friendly, and truly caring. Highly recommended.

This is the best dentist I have been to hands down and I cannot recommend them enough. Their front desk staff is kind and respectful and does their best to make you feel welcome and to get you in right away, especially if you have an emergency. Dr. Austin Ako takes the time to explain everything in a way that puts you at ease and ensures that you are comfortable throughout the entire time you are in the office. They also take pain management seriously and make sure that they listen to their patients and what they need throughout getting a procedure, which is why I will continue to come here. They also have the most advanced equipment which means they can do almost everything at the same office and in a much shorter amount of time than it would take at other dentists on island. They also run on-time, so my appointments are always shorter than I expect. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Ako and the whole staff, I am so glad to have found them.

Staff are professional and courteous. Dr. Austin Ako was very engaging and informative. The procedure went exactly as he laid it out and even better. "Didn’t feel a thing!" (Awesome!) I am experiencing "zero" post procedure discomfort or pain. I highly recommend Dr. Austin Ako and Kahala Modern Dentistry to anyone looking for an honest assessment and treatment. They have the most modern equipment to further enhance needed procedures and mitigate time spent in the chair. I have been coming to the "Ako Family" for my dentistry needs for 60 years and Dr. Austin is the 3rd generation. I have NEVER been disappointed with the treatment given by the Ako family.

Dr. Jason Ako is the very best! He uses modern tools to see teeth close up from all angles to diagnose issues, very knowledgeable and takes the time to explain the condition and solutions. He also addresses issues that can cause potential problems and provides preventative care. And the treatment is painless and he has great chair-side manners. The staff are very professional and friendly. I am so glad to have switched over to his office!

Dr Ako is an incredible dentist and has so much modern technology to handle all our dental needs with precision and care. I highly recommend this office for annual care and dental emergencies. The staff and hygienists are so welcoming and professional. Mahalo!

Dr. Austin Ako just did a crown on my tooth…it took only one appointment to finish the entire job. Dr. Austin has the skill and technology which amounted to a great result. I felt no pain. No problems. Crown looks awesome.
