Tend Dental Park Slope

It’s true that this dental company has hidden charges and surprise billing. I’ve been back and forth on a balance for a regular check up and no one seems to be able to explain them to me. I decided to move elsewhere. They’re really nice to you in person but I don’t think they actually care about all these billing issues patients are experiencing. It’s a shame because I did like my dentist and most of the hygienists were good.

Favorite dentist experience of all time. I have a significant amount of anxiety around dental care, but I felt totally at ease for my entire appt. Every single Tend team member, from receptionist, to hygienist, to dentist was kind and walked me through everything they were doing. I was consulted about cost prior to procedures. I am genuinely so grateful for Tend Park Slope and look forward to my next appt.

Incredible first experience as a new patient. Clean, friendly and they’re very thorough! I loved watching blue planet on the ceiling as I got my cleaning — what a treat!

I’ve been using this location as a local for the last 3 years. They are very professional and the office is very well run. Everyone is friendly and I love the personalized touches during my sessions - glasses and headphones to watch tv during procedures, personalized welcome screens, etc. The team is very transparent with my treatment plan. Takes away all the scaries about going to the dentist.

Great dentist! I was coming a little early for my appointment but was promptly brought to my suite. Everyone was very professional and thorough, talked me through what was happening and super friendly. All the equipment seemed to be super clean and new. Virtually no wait time. I'm glad to have found such a great new dental clinic!

I self scheduled an early morning appointment before work over the holiday weekend. They clarified my insurance covered my visit and were incredibly timely and direct with the services provided. I cannot recall my hygienists name, but she had incredible bedside manner and was very informative. I'll definitely be returning for future appointments.

I love the providers, the office, and the ease of scheduling, but there is no way around the fact that their billing system suuuuuuucks. The latest one: the hygenist told me fluoride is fully covered by insurance, front desk demands I pay $28 anyway. A month later, insurance sends me an EOB showing the insurance also paid them $28. On a previous visit they told me I needed to pay over $70 for a cleaning "because the price is set by my union", which was of course wrong. This is a repeated problem and I know others who have had worse billing issues with Tend. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend that you go there for a cleaning and checkup, but consider this warning if you have insurance: DO NOT trust what the front desk tells you, and DO NOT agree to pay them anything until you have the EOB in hand.
